  • sixteen in all to the straight sided arms, centred by a principal rectangular cushion cut diamond, all open cut down collet set in silver and gold, approximately 6.50cts of diamonds in all (the central diamond of approximately 0.95cts), hung upon a simple gold bail, French control mark for silver and gold together with a fitted case, accompanied by a small note handwritten in French regarding the provenance, translating as: 'Diamond cross given to Madame Desabie born Marie Le Bertre by the Pinet sisters who had been lady's maids to a very powerful royal princess before the French revolution'.
